For the fifth straight year, the NDSU men’s basketball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The academic award program recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. All teams in NCAA Divisions I, II, III and NAIA Division I and II are eligible.

NDSU was one of 44 Division I schools to receive the award, as the student-athletes on the 2017-18 roster combined for a cumulative 3.36 team GPA. The Bison had six men record better than a 3.50 GPA for the spring 2018 semester. 

NDSU was also the only Division I school in the country with two Academic All-District honorees this season, as presented by the College Sports Information Directors Association.
