The NDSU Department of Residence Life has announced Gina Aalgaard Kelly, associate professor of medical and aging sociology, as the newest Faculty-in-Residence

During the academic year, Aalgaard Kelly will live in an apartment in the Mathew Living Learning Center and actively interact with upper division students living in the buildings. The role provides Aalgaard Kelly the opportunity to connect both formally and informally with students outside the classroom where additional important learning occurs.

Aalgaard Kelly is a member of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from NDSU and her Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Minnesota.

The Faculty-in-Residence program began in 2008 and focuses on the exchange of ideas, intellectual development, career experience, personal connections and shared experiences.

As a student-focused, land grant, research institution, we serve our citizens.
