Conservation genetics expert to give NDSU talk

The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a presentation byTammy Steeves, associate professor and postgraduate coordinator of biological sciences at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand.

She is scheduled to present “Maximizing Genetic Diversity in Captive Breeding for Translocation Programs in Threatened New Zealand Birds” on Friday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. in Loftsgard 114.

Steeves’ research focuses on conservation and evolutionary genetics. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Calgary, master’s degree at American University and her doctorate from Queen’s University.
