NDSU ADVANCE FORWARD is sponsoring a lecture and workshops on Nov. 19-20. Mark Chesler, professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Michigan, will present "Working Toward Gender (and race) Equity on Campuses" on Friday, Nov. 20, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Plains room. He will discuss the work being done by the Committee on Strategies and Tactics for Recruiting to Improve Diversity (STRIDE) at the University of Michigan. The committee leads workshops for faculty and administrators involved in hiring. It also works with departments by meeting with chairs, faculty search committees and other department members involved with recruitment and retention.

Chesler will work with the Advocates program on Thursday, Nov. 19.

He also will meet with other groups throughout the day on Friday, Nov. 20.

A session for deans and administrators is planned for 7:30 a.m. in the Memorial Union Rose room. To register, go to ndsuadvance.ndsu.nodak.edu/registration/november_20_730.html.
