The Northern Plains Ethics Institute at NDSU is set to hold the third panel session addressing terrorism in our communities. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Memorial Union Century Theater.

The panel will focus on food safety and terrorism. Panelists will answer questions about the vulnerabilities in the U.S. food system and what to do about them.

The forum was created in response to the continued community demand from the institute’s previous two panels on the same topic.

Panelists will include:

• Amy Kircher, director of the Food Protection and Defense Institute and co-director of the Strategic Partnerships and Research Collaborative at the University of Minnesota.

• William Nganje, NDSU chair and professor of agribusiness and applied economics.

• Jack Zaleski, former The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead editorial editor, columnist and institute advisory board member, will serve as moderator.

Questions from the audience are encouraged.

“Terrorism is often thought of solely as an ‘over there’ issue, when it actually has an impact on each and every one of us right here at home,” said Dennis Cooley, institute director.  “Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the continuing conversation on an issue affecting our representative democracy and country.”

Questions or requests for accommodation can be directed to Cooley at 701-231-0738 or dennis.cooley@ndsu.edu.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
