Staff Senate nominations sought, election scheduled

The NDSU Staff Senate is seeking nominations for 16 open seats. Nominations can be made at www.ndsu.edu/staff_senate from March 31 to April 9. The Staff Senate spring election will be conducted at www.ndsu.edu/staff_senate from April 14-21.

 

Nominees can be any regular benefited employees from the following job categories: 1000/3000 – Administrative, Managerial and Professional; 4000 – Technical and Paraprofessional; 5000 – Office Support; and 6000/7000 – Crafts and Trades and Services. The open positions are two-year terms.

• All broadbanded NDSU staff members are encouraged to nominate themselves and others for Staff Senate.

• Nominators are asked to check with the person they are nominating before sending in the nomination.

• Nominees are encouraged to discuss with their supervisors the opportunity to serve before being nominated.

For those persons nominated, short bios and photos are requested for use on the Staff Senate Web page. You may have photos taken at Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering room 100 (ask for Lori Sholts) or Ladd Hall room 209 (ask for Heather Heger.) You also may e-mail digital photos and short bios to Laura Dallmann at laura.dallmann@ndsu.edu.

The NDSU Staff Senate is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The group’s mission statement is, “NDSU Staff Senate addresses the needs and aspirations of university staff by promoting a progressive campus environment.”

Staff Senate sponsors many activities including Employee Recognition Week, Scholarship Fund for classified staff members and their families, Staff Development programs, Campus Kudos awards, Valentine Ball and the annual Holiday Blood Drive.
