Sherri Nordstrom-Stastny, assistant professor in the Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science, received the Best Proposal Award at the annual Foodservice Educators Learning Community summit, Feb. 25-27 in Charleston, S.C.

Nordstrom-Stastny won the award for a refereed standup presentation titled “Teaching Math Online.” She developed an online curriculum for a food management course. Course objectives were to meet current learning objectives without meeting face-to-face.

Assessments were compared from 2007 and 2008 means scores to 2009 scores for same worksheets and tests using same rubric. Nordstrom-Stastny found no significant changes in learning.
