Four honored for achievements in dietetics

During the North Dakota Dietetic Association conference held April 28-30, in Bismarck, N.D., health, nutrition and exercise science faculty, students and alumni were recognized for their achievements in the field of dietetics.

Lynette Winters, assistant professor of dietetics practice, was named Educator of the Year. She has been an instructor for 12 years and has been instrumental in facilitating program accreditation, has partnered with many state facilities to establish internship sites for the coordinated program and has been a leader in student advising for the dietetic program.

Graduate student Meredith Wagner was named Young Dietitian of the Year. She is working toward her doctorate. Her major adviser is Yeong Rhee, associate professor of health, nutrition and exercise science. Wagner is employed by Concordia College dining services and is the incoming president of the Fargo-Moorhead Dietetic Association.

Larissa Myers, senior, was given the Outstanding Student Award. She will graduate in May and will begin an internship at Emory Hospital in Atlanta next fall.

Graduate student Lisa Wojahn was named Emerging Dietetics Leader. She is president of the Fargo-Moorhead Dietetic Association and is employed at MeritCare, specializing in sports nutrition and general nutrition.
