The NDSU Bookstore in partnership with the Office of Multicultural Programs has organized an event to celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Members of the NDSU community are asked to gather on Friday, June 18, at noon in front of the NDSU Bookstore to commemorate this day and enjoy refreshments.

Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings.
