Uchiyama to give presentation about Japanese garden design at NDSU

Sadafumi Uchiyama, a renowned landscape architect with expertise in Japanese garden design, will give a presentation on Friday, Aug. 28, at 5 p.m. on the fifth floor of North Dakota State University's Renaissance Hall.

Uchiyama will speak about the creation of a dwelling place, territory or environment that is reflected in the design of Japanese gardens in and outside of Japan. He also will address the imperatives of sustainable design and how Japanese culture and design can positively influence landscape architecture.

This presentation is co-sponsored by the Department of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society, which is developing a Japanese garden at the Northern Plains Botanic Garden in Fargo.
