Recent publications and presentations

Stefan Vetter, research assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, gave a presentation at the 11th Symposium of the European Calcium Society on Calcium-Binding Proteins in Normal and Transformed Cells in Warsaw, Poland.

Dale Sullivan, professor of English, recently had a book chapter, "Forged in Fire: A Study of the Generic Dynamics in the Acts of the Apostles," published in Rhetorics in the New Millennium: Promise and Fulfillment.

Judy Pearson, professor of communication and associate dean, has collaborated on several recently published articles in professional journals.

Pearson; Anna Carmon, assistant professor at Indian University-Purdue University, Columbus; NDSU doctoral candidate Cloy Tobola and Michael Fowler of Sanford Health wrote “Motives for communication:  Why the Millennial generation uses electronic devices” for the Journal of the Communication of the Speech and Theatre Association of North Dakota.

Pearson; Jeff Child, assistant professor at Kent State University; Liliana Herakova, graduate teaching associate at the University of Massachusetts; Julie Semlak, assistant professor at the University of Miami of Ohio; and Jessie Angelos, former Illinois State University graduate teaching associate, wrote “Competent public speaking: Assessing skill development in the basic course” for the Basic Communication Course Annual.

Pearson, Child and Carmon wrote “Rituals in committed romantic relationships: The creation and validation of an instrument” for Communication Studies and “Rituals in dating relationships: The development and validation of a measure” for Communication Quarterly.

Doctoral fellow Nadene Vevea, Pearson, Child and Semlak wrote an article for the Journal of the Communication of the Speech and Theatre Association of North Dakota.

Carmon, NDSU doctoral students Kai Western and Amy Miller, Pearson and Fowler wrote “Grieving those we've lost: An examination of family communication patterns and grief reactions” for Communication Research Reports.
