Northern Crops Institute hosts participants from 7 countries for soy course

The Northern Crops Institute on the NDSU campus is hosting participants from the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Uganda and the United States during its annual INTSOY course.

The five-day course runs Aug. 12-16.

The practical short course in processing methods and innovative applications of soybean ingredients explores new ideas for soy-based foods and snack foods, soy as a supplement to fortify foods, soy as animal nutrition and an overview of soy production in the United States.

Participants also will tour facilities across the region including farms, Buhler Inc. and Tru Shrimp.
