NDSU graduate students earn awards from online alliance

The Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance awarded two of its five 2019 Student Excellence Awards to NDSU graduate students. Amanda Levin, who is from Fargo, and Danielle Bollman, who is from Grand Forks, North Dakota, each earned $1,000 to use toward their online studies.

Levin is earning a master’s degree in merchandising online. NDSU is one of five universities that contribute faculty and courses to offer the merchandising program together.

Bollman is working toward her teacher certification with a master’s degree in family and consumer sciences education. NDSU is one of six universities collaborating to offer the FCS education program online.

A total of 19 regionally accredited universities are members of Great Plains IDEA, which has offered quality online degrees since 2000. In various combinations, universities together offer nine human sciences and nine agriculture programs online.

To qualify for a Student Excellence Award, students needed to be attaining a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or certificate in a Great Plains IDEA degree program from a Great Plains IDEA member university. The Great Plains IDEA governing cabinet reviewed applications and granted the awards
