The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a faculty promotion presentation by Erin Gillam, associate professor of biological sciences.

The seminar, titled Bats, Birds, and Degus – Oh My! Adventures in the Gillam Lab,” is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6, at 3 p.m. in Van Es 101. Everyone is welcome.

Gillam is a behavioral ecologist whose research has focused largely on bats. A major theme of her research is understanding how behavioral, ecological and evolutionary factors influence the structure of communication signals.

Gillam joined the NDSU faculty in 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, Collage Park, and her doctorate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
