NDSU’s Alba Bales House is set to present an historical exhibition on Monday, Oct. 7, during Homecoming Week. The Alba Bales House is located at 1260 N. University Drive.

The exhibition will feature a profile of Henry L. Bolley, an NDSU dean and botanist who lived from 1865-1956, and a look at the history of the NDAC Demonstration House.

Bolley’s research of flax, wheat, and potato diseases increased farmers’ income by millions of dollars during the first half of the 20th century, and he made a significant contribution to plant pathology worldwide.

The history of the NDAC Demonstration House of the 1950s shows student contributions in home management, community development, consumer economics and the empowerment of women.

Tours of the Alba Bales House for NDSU staff, faculty and students are scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are requested. Public tours are set for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Members of the public also are asked to reserve a spot.
