Staff Senate offers scholarships

The NDSU Staff Senate is offering scholarships to eligible NDSU broadbanded staff, children of broadbanded staff and undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree. The application deadline for the scholarships is Thursday, April 14. Eligibility requirements are as follows.

Broadbanded Staff Senate Scholarship, $100 – The applicant must have:

  • Finished a full year of employment at NDSU by April 14,
  • Current employment at NDSU as a broadbanded employee,
  • Earned nine undergraduate or six graduate credits at NDSU,
  • Earned a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, and
  • Current enrollment at NDSU of three or more undergraduate or two graduate credits at the time of application and disbursement of award.

Children of Broadbanded Staff Senate Scholarship, $500 maximum – The applicant must have:

  • A parent that has completed one year of employment by April 14 and is currently employed as a broadbanded employee at NDSU,
  • Earned 15 or more undergraduate credits at NDSU,
  • Not earned a bachelor’s degree,
  • Earned a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, and
  • Current enrollment of at least half-time as an undergraduate student per NDSU guidelines.

     

Student Staff Senate Scholarship, $500 maximum – The applicant must have:

  • Earned 30 or more undergraduate credits at NDSU,
  • Not earned a bachelor’s degree,
  • Earned a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, and
  • Current full-time enrollment as an undergraduate student per NDSU guidelines.

The Staff Senate Scholarship Committee will select the recipients prior to the 2011 fall semester. Dispersal of funds for both undergraduate student scholarships will be in equal installments at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. Dispersal for broadbanded staff will be at the beginning of the fall semester.
