NDSU exercise science: learn from the best

Did you know that NDSU’s exercise science program is one of the best you’ll find? The program’s outstanding faculty prepare students to work in commercial, community, corporate or clinical settings.

The major is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs through the American College of Sports Medicine. NDSU’s curriculum covers the knowledge and skills expected of an ACSM-approved health or fitness specialist.

“The NDSU program stands out over other programs because it offers a wide variety of classes that are tailored specifically to exercise science,” said Kaleb Streit, a junior exercise science major from Casselton, North Dakota. “Other colleges I looked at simply lumped exercise science classes in with other majors’ classes, such as physical education. I also feel like NDSU gives me the ‘most bang for my buck’ – a quality education at a reasonable price compared to other schools.”

Streit plans a career as a chiropractor after attending graduate school at Northwestern Health Sciences University. “I was told while visiting Northwestern that NDSU has one of the best exercise science programs Northwestern has seen, and that students who come from NDSU are well prepared for chiropractic school.”

Other areas where NDSU exercise science majors can pursue a graduate education are exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, sports nutrition, sports medicine, biomechanics or other allied health disciplines.
