Student Success Summit set for Feb. 5

Faculty and staff interested in discussing and learning more about how NDSU can help our students succeed are encouraged to attend the second annual Student Success Summit, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 8 a.m. in the Memorial Union.

“Each us has the ability to make a big impact on the success of our students; whether we teach them, advise them or employ them. This event was really created to bring NDSU faculty and staff together in one place to share their experience, expertise and advice on how to best help our students achieve success,” said Jessie Bauer, Career and Advising Center senior academic and career adviser. “We also hope this will allow a unique professional development opportunity for both faculty and staff and provide an avenue for open discussion between colleagues. This is the second year of the Student Success Summit and we hope to continue it each spring in order to keep working toward our mission of being student focused.”

Emily Berg, director of the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, is set to open the summit with the keynote presentation, “NDSU Retention and Graduation Overview,” in the Arikara room. The session will include a summary of NDSU’s current retention and graduation trends, with time for questions and discussion.

•  “Opening the Door to Distance Education Learners” – 9 a.m., Hidatsa room

Presented by Erika Beseler Thompson and Sarah Crary, School of Education; and Andrea Huseth-Zosel, Department of Public Health
