Online graduate programs: Gerontology

Vanessa Christiuk chose to pursue an online master’s in gerontology from NDSU because it will allow greater flexibility and create more opportunities in the medical field. The program’s online format also lets her gain relevant experience while earning the degree.

“The program is an addition to my life and not a disruption,” said Christiuk, who is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. “I still work full time at a medical clinic, which is giving me great experience before medical school.”

The degree is the perfect way to advance her career, she said. During her time in the program, has been able to expand her professional network and learn from her peers. She has also built connections with NDSU faculty who are invested in her future.

“The support from the team at NDSU is amazing,” she said. “I have regular contact with my advisor and campus coordinator. Everyone is eager to help me achieve my goals.”

NDSU’s master’s in gerontology program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance.
