Online graduate programs: Youth development

Chelsea Woodard chose NDSU’s online master’s in youth development because it aligns perfectly with her career as a 4-H extension agent. She was able to expand her knowledge of positive youth development, grant writing and community needs assessments while working full time.

“The entire time I worked on my degree I was also working full time,” Woodard said. “The ability to take one or two classes online at a time is the only reason I was able to obtain my degree.”

The program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance. NDSU partners with other universities to make continued education more accessible through high-quality online programs. Students learn from professors from a variety of universities and work alongside students with differing backgrounds.

“It was interesting working with full-time college students and working professionals in the same class,” Woodard said. “And having professors from several schools in the program was refreshing and provided a variety of expertise.”
