Online graduate programs: Dietetics

NDSU offers a master’s in dietetics that prepares registered dietitians to practice at an advanced level or pursue doctoral study. The online, self-paced structure makes the program ideal for working dietitians interested in growing professionally.

Amy Petersen, an NDSU dietetics master’s student, earned a bachelor’s in dietetics from NDSU. She is a registered dietitian working in the retail industry.

“The online program allows me to work full time and take classes at my own pace,” Petersen said. “It’s also allowing me to finish my degree faster.”

The program has allowed her to expand her knowledge and pursue an area of focus within the field. It has equipped her with the skills necessary to continue exploring her career, she said.

“The courses in NDSU’s dietetics master’s program have prepared me to take on new projects and leadership roles in my career,” she said.

The online community and collaboration between students and teachers allow for a rich learning environment. Students get to know each other through videos and discussion boards, despite living across the country.

“We all share different backgrounds and live in unique locations, which allows for great discussion on many topics,” Petersen said.

NDSU’s master’s in dietetics is offered through the Great Plans Interactive Distance Education Alliance.
