The NDSU Staff Senate Recognition Committee recognized Cory Schlack, admission counselor, and Sharley Kurtz, learning and applied innovation team assistant manager, with this month's Campus Kudos awards. The presentation was made Feb. 5.

Schlack was nominated by Joel Hanson, College of Engineering Student Support Center director, who said the two of them corresponded with a Davies High School student to arrange a campus visit.

“Not only did Cory help me coordinate the visit, he also accompanied the student and her parents to my office and engaged in a wonderful conversation that helped the student get a thorough understanding of the opportunities at NDSU,” Hanson said. “Cory's appreciation and fondness for his own experiences as an NDSU student a few years ago definitely came through during this visit.”

Kurtz was nominated by Kolby Schaeffer Fraase, assistant professor of practice in the School of Nursing, who said one of her Blackboard courses did not copy over correctly for the spring semester and her students did not have access to critical documents and videos to prepare for their skills lab.

“Upon submitting a report with the IT Help Desk, Shar was quick to respond and immediately started investigating,” Schaeffer Fraase said. “In less than two days, Shar had identified the issue and provided a solution. Shar demonstrated high quality service and teamwork, discussing the issue with me via phone and assuring me that the problem would be resolved.”
