Student-athlete named to Academic All-District 6 Softball Team

NDSU designated player Cara Beatty was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 6 Division I Softball Team. The honorees were announced May 14, and selected by the members of CoSIDA.

Beatty, a junior from Las Vegas, Nevada, was named for the first time and advances to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America winners will be announced June 11.

After transferring from Iowa State University, Beatty was selected to the 2019 NFCA All-Midwest third team and 2019 All-Summit League first team. She is a NFCA Scholar Athlete and was named to the Summit League Honor Roll in 2019. Beatty is majoring in biological sciences (pre-med).

District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director.
