Dickinson Research Extension Center to hold field day

Variety trials will be one of the topics covered during this year's field day at NDSU's Dickinson Research Extension Center.

The in-person tour will begin at 5 p.m. July 8 Mountain time following social distancing guidelines because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Registration is required. Visit the center's website to register. The registration deadline is July 2. If the event exceeds its capacity for participants, the center will host a second session.

In addition to variety trials, NDSU Extension cropping systems specialist Ryan Buetow and center director Chris Augustin are set to provide an overview of major issues and explore the soil in soil pits.

Prior to the on-station tour, the center is scheduled to host an online information session at 9 a.m. July 8 Mountain time. The event will provide agronomic information from specialists across the state, including updates from the Hettinger and Dickinson RECs. DREC staff also will discuss the ongoing research on acidic soil management. Visit the DREC website for information on participating in the session.

Continuing education units for certified crop advisers have been requested for the events.

For more information about the online or on-station event, contact Buetow at 701-456-1106 or ryan.buetow@ndsu.edu and use the subject line "Field Day."
