Challey Institute names Faculty Fellows

NDSU’s Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth has announced its 2020-2021 Faculty Fellows. The fellows are a group of NDSU faculty who will educate and engage students, conduct policy-relevant research and participate in outreach activities to further the institute’s mission. 

The Faculty Fellows represent a diverse group, with faculty members from 10 departments and five colleges.

“Innovative solutions to societal problems are often found through interdisciplinary collaboration,” said John Bitzan, Menard Family Director of the Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth. “The Challey Institute's faculty fellows program brings together the outstanding talent at NDSU to tackle a common mission. With this year's fellows, we have a truly interdisciplinary group committed to solving important problems and finding ways to expand economic opportunity."

The 2020-2021 fellows include:

• Eric Asa, associate professor of construction management and engineering

• Achintya Bezbaruah, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering

• David Hong, associate professor of accounting

• Fariz Huseynov, professor of finance

• Don Johnson, assistant professor of history

• Joshua Marineau, associate professor of management

• Stefanie Meyer, assistant professor of practice in public health

• Ellen Rubinstein, assistant professor of anthropology

• Anupa Sharma, assistant professor of economics

• Jeremy Straub, assistant professor of computer science

• Lei Zhang, associate professor of economics

The Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth aims to advance understanding in the areas of innovation, trade and institutions to identify policies and solutions that enhance economic growth and opportunity.
