How first-year students apply for housing

First-year students can easily apply for on-campus housing.

It’s easy for first-year NDSU students to apply for on-campus housing. After you’ve been admitted to NDSU, you can submit your housing application online. The sooner you apply for housing, the more likely you are to get your hall and room of choice during room selection in March.

Just follow these simple steps:

1. Use your claimed North Dakota University System (NDUS) ID. If you’re not sure you’ve claimed it, you can verify online.

2. Use your North Dakota State University credentials to log into your housing portal.

3. After your application is complete, you can learn about selecting a roommate which will begin in December.

In March, you will participate in the Room Self-Selection Process where you will log in and assign yourself to a room and residence hall of your choice. Details about room selection will be available by January 2021.

“Living on campus provides the ultimate college experience. In your residence hall you will meet lifelong friends and create memories that will last forever,” said Rian Nostrum, director of Residence Life. “From traditional residence halls to modern apartment living, Residence Life provides a variety of housing options for your first year through your college career.”
