Student resources: Counseling Center

Services at the NDSU Counseling Center, aside from specialized testing, come at no additional cost to students.

The NDSU Counseling Center provides a confidential setting where students can receive support for personal or academic concerns. All services, aside from specialized testing, come at no additional cost to students.

Students in counseling can explore any concerns that hinder their personal and academic well-being. Several support areas are offered to fit a student’s individual needs, including crisis intervention, personal or group counseling, academic counseling, stress and depression assessments, self-development workshops and connections with off-campus referral resources.

“Frequently students will suffer silently, questioning if their problems are bad enough to access counseling services,” said Amber Bach-Gorman, assistant director, and clinical and crisis services counselor at the center. “Typically, if they are asking themselves that question, they would benefit from support and it is best to reach out before things become too distressing.”

The center also provides information about managing anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders and body image issues.

Managing one’s emotional well-being is pivotal for student success and students are encouraged to utilize this resource. More information about NDSU student resources can be found online.
