Bison thrower earns Academic All-District recognition

NDSU thrower Trevor Otterdahl was named to the Academic All-District 6 team for Division I men’s track and field and cross country, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced July 15.

Otterdahl, from Rosemount, Minnesota, earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a 3.96 cumulative GPA, and is now pursuing a Master of Business Administration. He was a first-team All-American in the weight throw in 2021, placing fourth at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

In outdoor events, Otterdahl was an NCAA West Prelims qualifier in the hammer throw and shot put, and placed second in the hammer and sixth in the shot at the Summit League Championships.

Otterdahl advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, to be announced in mid-August.

District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
