The NDSU Center for Child Development was chosen to participate in The Growing Child Care in North Dakota Aim4Excellence Scholarship due to its designation as a National Association for the Education of Young Children accredited program and commitment to children and families.

Nine modules covered through the Aim4Excellence management training include Leading the Way; Recruiting, Selecting and Orienting Staff; Promoting Peak Performance; Managing Program Operations; Building a Sound Business Strategy; Planning Indoor and Outdoor Environments; Supporting Children’s Development and Learning; Creating Partnerships with Families; and Evaluating Program Quality.

The benefits of the Aim4Excellence Scholarship include:

•        Deb Habedank, center director, will be one of the first North Dakota directors to earn her center director credential by completing Aim4Excellence, an online course from the McCormick Institute of National Louis University specifically designed for center managers. Her national director credential was achieved in September.
•       A certified program administration scale assessor completed an evaluation of leadership and management practices at the Center for Child Development in January. The center received an overall score of 5.14. The national average ranges from 2.6 to 4.54.
