'Bat Lady' to give biological sciences seminar

The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a presentation by Erin Gillam, professor of biological sciences, Friday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. in Van Es 101

Gillam, sometimes referred to as the “Bat Lady,” is scheduled to present “Bats and Humans: The Good, the Bad and the Virus-y.”

The talk also can be viewed via Zoom.

Gillam is a behavioral ecologist whose research has focused mainly on bats. A major theme of her research is understanding how behavioral, ecological and evolutionary factors influence the structure of animal communication signals. She and her students have conducted research in a number of locations, including North Dakota, Texas, Costa Rica and Madagascar.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come in costume.
