Search begins for dean of libraries

NDSU Provost Margaret Fitzgerald has announced the search committee for the next dean of libraries. The group will conduct a national search.

David Buchanan, associate dean of the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources, will chair the committee.

“The dean of libraries position is one that affects the entire academic community at NDSU,” Buchanan said. We need a person who fully embraces NDSU’s declaration that we are a student-focused, land-grant, research university and has a clear vision for the future of the NDSU Libraries. The search committee, with the assistance of faculty, staff and students, hopes to identify a large and diverse pool of candidates and will strive to help outstanding candidates know that this is a great opportunity.”

Buchanan said the committee hopes to have a new dean in place by July 1, 2022.

• Jason Blosser, assistant vice president, Information Technology Services  

• Lindsay Condry, marketing and programs coordinator, NDSU Libraries

• John Cox, professor of history, philosophy and religious studies

• Andrew Croll, associate professor of physics and Faculty Senate library committee member

• Lisa Eggebraaten, research and Access Librarian, Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library and Business Learning Center

• Adam Elznic, emerging technologies services coordinator, NDSU Libraries

• Jenny Grasto, head of resource acquisition, management and discovery, NDSU Libraries

• Nicole Juve, agricultural sciences librarian, NDSU Libraries 

• Jeremy Kopp, outreach and operations coordinator, Germans from Russia Heritage Collection, NDSU Libraries

• Catherine Kratochvil, head, of access services, NDSU Libraries

• Ryan Limb, associate professor in the School of Natural Resource Sciences and Faculty Senate Executive Committee member

• Scott Pryor, associate dean of the College of Engineering 

• Amy Reese, head of systems and digital strategies, NDSU Libraries

• Matt Tallant, processing archivist, NDSU Libraries
