Peltier Complex groundbreaking ceremony set

NDSU will officially break ground for the Peltier Complex, the state-of-the-art agricultural product development center, during a naming ceremony scheduled for Friday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Wallman Wellness Center.

Members of the media, city leaders, agriculturalists, the campus community and NDSU alumni and friends are invited to attend.

Event speakers are scheduled to include NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani; Gov. Doug Burgum; State Sen. Rich Wardner; State Sen. Ronald Sorvaag; Greg Lardy, NDSU vice president for agricultural affairs; Mark Jirik, Northern Crops Institute director; Keith Peltier; Eric Berg, NDSU professor of animal science; and Ana Magallanes Lopez, doctoral graduate research assistant.

The Peltier Complex will be located in the southwest corner of the main campus. It will join NDSU’s food science, meat science and cereal science laboratories along with the Northern Crops Institute, a four-state-focused agency committed to promoting, developing and marketing crops grown in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana.

The North Dakota Legislature approved $70 million for the completion of the facility and authorized an additional $15 million in fundraising.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
