The fifth annual Northern Plains Graham Greene Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Minard Hall, room 138. This year’s the theme is "Love in Greene-land." The presenters are Dennis Cooley, philosophy; Vincent Wargo, philosophy; and John K. Cox, history.

Graham Greene (1904-91) was an English novelist who also wrote many short stories, screenplays and essays, as well as a number of plays, biographies, travelogues, children's books, poems and movie reviews. His works are set against backdrops as varied as the Mexican Revolution, Cold War, European imperialism in Africa, London during the Blitz, Haiti during the reign of "Papa Doc" Duvalier and the crisis of Roman Catholic faith in 20th century industrialized societies.

The Northern Plains Graham Greene Day exists to celebrate the achievements of Greene as a writer and to spark discussion and debate about his ideas.

All members of the NDSU and Fargo-Moorhead communities are welcome to attend.
