Tapestry of Inclusion inducts 4 members

Four members of the NDSU community were inducted into the Memorial Union’s Tapestry of Inclusion during a ceremony on Wednesday, March 9 in the Anishinaabe Theater. A reception is set to follow in the Butte Lounge.

The honorees are:

• Tyrel Iron Eyes, staff member in the Office of Multicultural Programs, and graduate student in the Department of Anthropology

• Shayna Karuman, graduate student in Department of Architecture

• Jamee Larson, senior lecturer in Department of English

Hollie Mackey, associate professor in the Department of Education

“The deserving recipients of this recognition actively commit to creating a campus community where differences are seen as strengths and where everyone feels as if they belong. They strive to make NDSU a community based on respect and where all members can be their authentic selves and therefore thrive,” said Lisa Samuelson, director of student activities.

The Tapestry of Inclusion is a program of the Student Activities Office. The pictorial mosaic recognizes students, faculty, staff and alumni for their contributions to diversity at NDSU. Formerly called the Tapestry of Diverse Talents, its inductees support and advocate for inclusion at NDSU on the basis of age, gender expression/identity, mental and physical ability, race, socioeconomic status, religion, sex, sexual orientation and veteran status of the university community.
