Financial check up scheduled

Carrie Johnson, interim assistant director and family and community wellness program leader for NDSU Extension, is scheduled to host a free financial check-up session at from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, in the Memorial Union Prairie Rose room.

The session also will be available via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent the day of the session to registered attendees. Participants can register on the event webpage. Walk-ins are welcomed and registration is only required for Zoom participants. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

A financial check-up is just as important as a medical check-up. It allows participants to assess problems and risks, evaluate progress toward goals, help identify action steps and provide motivation to change practices. This session will provide tools and resources to help participants give themselves a financial check-up.

Johnson earned her doctorate at Iowa State University. Her research interests are finance, including personal finance for low-income and underserved populations, financial education impact and student loan debt.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
