NDSU women earn indoor Academic All-League honors

The NDSU women's indoor track and field team had four student-athletes named to the Academic All-League team announced March 23 by the Summit League office.

NDSU seniors Amanda Anderson, Kelby Anderson and Amy Phillips each were selected for the third time in their careers, while sophomore Allie Wahlund was a first-time honoree.

To be eligible for the Summit League Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and took part in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The award is voted on by the institutions' faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors.

Amanda Anderson, from Bethel, Minnesota, has a 4.0 GPA in health and physical education. She earned All-Summit League honors in the shot put.

Kelby Anderson, from Bismarck, North Dakota, has a 3.83 GPA in nursing and earned all-league honors in three distance events.

Phillips, from Henley-on-Thames, England, has a 3.87 GPA in health, nutrition and exercise science and was all-league in the weight throw.

Wahlund, from Minot, North Dakota, has a 4.0 GPA in nursing and earned all-league honors as part of NDSU's distance medley relay team.
