NDSU Places 47 on football honor roll

NDSU placed 47 student-athletes on the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll announced April 6.

NDSU tight end Austin Avery and defensive linemen Costner Ching, Logan McCormick and Brayden Thomas earned the league's highest academic achievement by capturing the MVFC Presidents Council Academic Award, which requires a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, two years of participation in athletics and graduation by the end of summer 2022.

Those four student-athletes were among 32 Bison who earned the MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum GPA of 3.2 for the previous two semesters (freshmen are not eligible).

To qualify for the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a 3.0 GPA for a specified term (fall 2021), been a member of the football team and enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours during the fall.

The honorees from NDSU include:
