The NDSU women’s track and field team was represented by five Bison on the Summit League Academic All-League team for the 2022 outdoor season.

Amanda Anderson, Kelby Anderson, Alissa Melvin, Amy Phillips and Kari Wolfe earned the honor.

Amanda Anderson, from Bethel, Minnesota, has a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a physical education and health education major. She was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the Summit League Outdoor Championships, winning the shot put and her third consecutive conference title in the discus.

Kelby Anderson, from Bismarck, North Dakota, was named the Summit League Championships Track MVP for scoring 26 points in the running events, including a conference title in the 10,000-meter run and runner-up finishes in the 1,500 and 5,000. She is a nursing major with a 3.83 cumulative GPA.

Melvin, from Waterloo, Ontario, has a 3.92 GPA as a political science major. She posted the best triple jump mark by a Summit League athlete this season, leaping 42-feet, 2 inches to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.

Phillips, from Henley-on-Thames, England, is an NCAA Championships qualifier and the Summit League champion in the hammer throw. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a 3.87 GPA and has a 4.0 toward her master’s degree in health, nutrition and exercise science.

Wolfe, from Harvey, North Dakota, claimed her third straight Summit League javelin title and advanced to the NCAA Championships. She earned a degree in biological sciences with a 3.86 GPA.

To be eligible for The Summit League Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50% of their team’s competitions. The award is voted on by the institutions’ faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors.
