Supply chain researcher to give next Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop

The next Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. in Beckwith Recital Hall. NDSU faculty member Alfredo Roa-Henriquez is set to present “The Role of the Resource Sharing Resilience Tactic in the Context of Disasters and COVID-19.”

All members of the NDSU community and the public are invited to attend the free event. After the presentation, food and refreshments will be served in the Challey School of Music Atrium.

Roa-Henriquez is an assistant professor in the Department of Transportation, Logistics and Finance and a scholar at the Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth. His research interests include the resilience of businesses and supply chains, organizational economics and the intersection of behavioral economics and supply chain management.

During the presentation, Roa-Henriquez will help participants understand the distinction between supply chain resilience and economic resilience. He will then discuss the role of the resource sharing tactic in the context of disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining NDSU, Roa-Henriquez was a postdoctoral scholar in the Applied Economics Office at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and Johns Hopkins University. He earned his doctorate in public policy and management from The Ohio State University.

The Human Progress and Flourishing Workshop, which is hosted by the Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth, invites internationally-renowned scholars from universities across the country to present their research and engage with the NDSU community.

The series continues every other Friday through Dec. 2.
