The Northern Plains Ethics Institute at NDSU is scheduled to host a public forum titled “Reimagining Tenure in Higher Education: HB 1446,” featuring North Dakota House of Representatives Majority Leader Mike Lefor.

The event is set for Thursday, Feb. 2, at 11:45 a.m. via Zoom.

During the forum, Lefor will explain the evolution of the bill, its importance and what it means for North Dakotans. He also will discuss amendments he is proposing to the committee hearing the bill on Feb. 3. Following his presentation, Lefor will answer questions from the audience.

Tim Flakoll, Tri-College University provost and NPEI advisory board chair, is set to serve as moderator.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Lefor is president of Blackridge Enterprises LLC, Dickinson, North Dakota, and has been a member of the state House of Representatives since 2015.
