Animal sciences assistant professor publishes paper

Maddock-Carlin

Kasey Maddock Carlin, assistant professor in animal science, had her paper, “Meat science and muscle biology symposium: Extracellular matrix in skeletal muscle development and meat quality,” recently published in the Journal of Animal Science. In her article, Carlin identifies cells relating to muscle growth and how it relates to the meat production industry. She also discusses the importance of quality and quantity of meat production in accordance with consumers. Articles published in Journal of Animal Science encompass a broad range of research topics in animal production and fundamental aspects of genetics, nutrition, physiology, and preparation and utilization of animal products. It is considered the premier journal for animal science and serves as a leading source of new knowledge and perspective in the Midwest.
