NDSU resumes operations after bomb threat

North Dakota State University, Fargo, was evacuated for nearly three hours Friday, Sept. 14, as the result of a bomb threat.

The call came at approximately 9 a.m. Officials notified campus to start evacuating at approximately 9:45 a.m.

NDSU President Dean L. Bresciani said the campus responded very well. "This was an impressive, coordinated effort by university police, city, state and federal authorities."

University, local, regional and federal agencies worked together using a planned and practiced set of procedures to conduct a search within the parameters of the call. At approximately 12:30 p.m., faculty, staff and students were notified that campus would reopen at 1 p.m., with classes and operations resuming at 2 p.m.

The incident is being investigated by the FBI.
