He later transitioned into a full-time systems administrator position in the Enterprise Computing and Infrastructure department. In March 2012, he was named acting manager of enterprise systems, a position which he has now been hired to fill permanently. Olson earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from NDSU.

Schlecht has 20 years of systems and database administration experience in both higher education and the private sector. From 1998 to 2007, he served as the senior UNIX systems administrator for the NDSU Libraries. Schlecht earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from NDSU. He has written and co-written journal articles on topics, including low-cost library database solutions, computerized assessment techniques for large classes, and Perl programming and MySQL database integration. Schlecht also has presented at numerous academic and professional conferences. Since 2008, Schlecht has served as the information technology program coordinator and instructor for the North Dakota Governor’s School program. He recently instructed courses in database design, database implementation, and Web design and database integration at Globe University – Moorhead, formerly the Minnesota School of Business.
