Associate professor named to state Cowboy Hall of Fame board

Stokka

Gerald Stokka, associate professor of livestock stewardship in animal sciences, has been appointed to the board of directors for the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. He provides statewide leadership and best practices in livestock stewardship in addition to developing an active research program in livestock stewardship related to North Dakota and regional livestock production practices, balancing scientific knowledge with responsible application.

Stokka is a two-plus term director and current past president for the Academy of Veterinary Consultants, and a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, American Society of Animal Science, North Dakota Stockman Association and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. He received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from NDSU and a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Iowa State University.
