Sprinter and pole vaulter named to Academic All-America third team

NDSU sprinter Brittany Page and pole vaulter Leslie Brost were named to the Capital One Academic All-America third team in Division I women’s track and field by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The announcement was made June 27.

Page and Brost become the fifth and sixth women in NDSU’s Division I era to earn an Academic All-America distinction.

A senior from Watertown, S.D., Page posted a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average in exercise science. She is a member of four NDSU school record relay teams, including three that were set during the 2013 outdoor season. Page was a member of three Summit League title-winning relay teams in 2013, as well as earning all-league finishes in the indoor and outdoor 400m and top-five finishes in the 200m.

Brost made her sixth NCAA Championships appearance in Eugene, Ore., on June 7. A four-time NCAA Indoor Championships qualifier and two-time NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier in the pole vault, Brost also has taken home six Summit League titles in the event during her career. The senior from Watertown, S.D., has a 3.79 grade-point average. She is an exercise science major.
