Graduate student selected for Green Chemistry Summer School

Ramya Raghunathan, an NDSU chemistry graduate student, was selected to attend the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Summer School held at Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colo., in July.

Raghunathan works jointly with the research groups of Sivaguru Jayaraman, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and Mukund Sibi, University Distinguished Professor of chemistry and biochemistry.

“Ramya is working in the area of light-induced reactions with an eye toward developing green chemical processes. This summer school initiative will help her as it aims to nurture future leaders in the field of Green Chemistry, ” said Sivaguru.

The summer program was sponsored by the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund.
