As summer comes to a close, faculty and teaching assistants, like students, begin to prepare for the first week of classes.  For those that have been teaching for some time, this is almost a ritual that symbolizes the changing of seasons, but for new teachers, the prospect of the first day of class can be overwhelming, even terrifying.
