Ever wondered why you are in school? Or why schooling is so similar around the world? In SOC 676: Sociology of Education, students will explore these topics and more. Students will examine the influence of society on the institution of education. Throughout the semester, students will review the purpose of education, the role of education and stratification, and education systems around the world.
