Soil Science

Soil Chemistry

Research in this area involves developing an understanding of the chemical composition of soils and how that composition influences plant nutrient availability and growth. Other areas of research include determining mineralogical composition of soils, soil analytical methodologies and method development and the role of soil chemical composition on availability of trace elements such as cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se) and other heavy metals in the environment.
