Objectives and Methodology
The principal purpose of the course is to introduce basic concepts of soil physics.
The soil physics laboratory will be taught in parallel with the lecture topics.
Physical properties of major interest in the course include water content, density, particle size distribution, porosity, aggregation, compaction, hydraulic conductivity, and other transport properties.
Students completing the course will possess a working knowledge of soil physics and soil physical properties, how they are measured, and their correlations.
